Even after the tragic terror attack on Mumbai, every citizen of the city has started working once again with the same spirit, our legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan is not behind in that.

But although he started working after the terror attack, he wanted to be alone even on the sets. And what made him more irritating is the presence of media on the sets. He went into his van and wouldn’t come on sets till the TV channels left from there.

All this he did because, he was very disturbed about the attacks and so was in no mood to interact with anyone. He thinks that expressing his views on this disaster would take away the attention from the real issue. So he thought its better to keep away from it.

Well, as the whole Mumbai is trying to come back to normal, we hope Mr. Bachchan will also get back his lost spirit.

After the contemporary take on relationships Cheeni Kum, Amitabh Bachchan and Tabu are teaming up again to work in period film The Legend Of Kunal. Amitabh will play emperor Ashoka, while Tabu will play his wife Tishyarakshitra. Director Chandraprakash Dwivedi is going to direct the film. However, Big B’s company AB Corp Ltd. will produce it. Dwivedi has earlier made the period film Pinjar.

“Tabu had not a moment’s hesitation in saying yes to the role of emperor Ashoka’s powerful wife Tishyarakshitra, so powerful she swayed the entire Mauryan Empire with her politics and aura. We needed an actress with the strength of conviction,” said Dwivedi.

Later he added, “History and its cinematic treatment demand the characters to be true to their antecedents. And emperor Ashoka, who is caught in his twilight years in my film, had to be played by Bachchan saab. Only he possesses the gravity, sobriety and personality along with being the age required.”

“I wouldn’t make Ashoka without him. As for Tabu, she plays his young, fiery, assertive wife. She is an actress I have wanted to work with for a very long time. Again, only she could play Tishyarakshitra,” said Dwivedi.

Apart from Tabu and Bachchan, the film stars Arjun Rampal as emperor Ashoka’s son Kunal and Amrita Rao as his wife Kanchanmala. For them Dwivedi said, “Again, I cast them because of their suitability rather than salebility.”

The director said that Amrita was recommended to him by Jaya Bachchan. “In fact, Amrita was recommended by Jaya Bachchan. Tabu and Amrita have many dramatic confrontation scenes together. I needed an actress who could hold her own against someone as powerful as Tabu. Amrita is delicate but strong,” added Dwivedi.

The legendary Bollywood actor, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan who is still working even at his age, writes about Wednesday’s Mumbai Terror Attack on his blog. During the terror attack Mr. Bachchan was asked by some TV channel to voice his opinion and feeling about it, but he says that it disgusted him.

Mr. Bachchan writes on his blog, “The entire day has been spent in front of the TV and watching in anguish and in anger, the proceedings on the streets of Mumbai. My pain has been the sight and plight of my innocent and vulnerable and completely insecure countrymen, facing the wrath of this terror attack. And, my anger has been at the ineptitude of the authorities that have been ordained to look after us… I’m being lured by words such as ‘we need you to speak to express solidarity and for the people to maintain their calm’. This is disgusting! I will not do that. Tell me and order me instead that we require for every Indian to get up and walk into the facilities where the action is on and I will be the first to walk. But, please do not ask me to come and make sloppy statements that will do nothing more than create viewer interest in a said particular channel…”

Big B Amitabh Ji Hospitalised on his Birthday

Many fans of shehenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan are praying for his health as he has been rushed to the hospital on his birthday due to abdominal pain.

The 66-year-old actor was rushed to Lilavati Hospital after he complained of abdominal pain. As soon as he reached hospital, his stomach and chest scans was taken.

Amitabh Bachchan was accompanied by his daughter Sweta, bahu Aishwarya Rai and son Abhishek to the hospital. Samajwadi party leader and close friend Amar Singh gave him a visit later. Amitabh is supposed to stay in the hospital for few days.

We all pray and wish that Big B turns alright soon and celebrates his birthday with great joy.

Amitabh Bachchan celebrates 66th Birthday

The Shehenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan turns 66 today. The angry young man started his innings in Bollywood with a series of flops but today is hailed as a finest actor not only by India but also by the world.

Even as he starts the beginning of his late sixties he still he the most sought after accomplished actor in Bollywood. Give him any role and voila he carries it with elan, adds more perfection to it and makes it real.

However the evergreen Bachchan has no plans for his 66th birthday, he says, “It has not been a year since my mother passed away, so it will be quiet. I will spend time with the family and meed those who may take the toruble of wishing me. And I shall seek the blessing of the Almighty for keeping me alive for another year.”

No wonder this humble Bachchan is known as Shehenshah of Bollywood.

Farah Khan knows as the love director owes her success to superstar Shahrukh Khan and she is ready to cater to the demands of this super star. She is even ready to change the script or even remove a selected actor for that role.

Farah Khan recently faced huge problems for her next film “Happy New Year” as her lead actor SRK refused to shoot for the film if Amitabh Bachchan is also in the movie. The cold war between them is on and it will keep going on for a while. So Farah Khan decided that she wanted to work with SRK and not with AB, finally she removed Ab role from the movie.

Farah says, “Yes, I am finally going ahead with Happy New Year. We have made some changes in the earlier script. The truth is, I wanted to make Happy New Year before Om Shanti Om. I plan to have an interesting cast along with Shah Rukh. But, I still haven’t decided how many of the actors will be established and how many will be newcomers.”

Farah will be start shooting for the film at the end of the year.

All I can say is duniya bohath kameeni hai.

Shah Rukh Khan probably will be very angry on this comment made by Aamir and as a reply to this SRK commented “Earlier on people used to name their children after famous people. Somebody naming a dog after a known person is a new beginning in that direction. I don’t have a copyright over this name if used non-commercially.”
