If the sources are to be believed the Luck By Chance actress, Isha Sharwani is dating a young politician from Congress Party. There is much buzz about this in Mumbai and Delhi.

One of the friends of the actress revealed that they got to know each other when the young and dashing MP saw and liked Isha’s recent flick Luck By Chance. And since then they have been meeting discreetly. The MP was managing to do this even when the current Lok Sabha elections are going on.

The politician has many close friends in the film industry. But he is still blameless and nor even caught in any filmi-neta nexus controversy.

As the buzz is going round the floor, when asked to the actress about the relationship, she completely denied it. “What? This is the most ridiculous rumour I have heard about myself till date. It’s completely baseless. Yes, right now I am in Delhi, but I know nothing about ‘him’ having watched Luck by Chance or having liked my performance,” said Isha.

Well no wonder, because she is denying it the same way she denied her previous link up with cricketer Zaheer Khan.

Akshay Kumar

Everybody in the film industry knows that Akshay Kumar is passionate about cricket. However, the actor recently showed his love for the game in some other way. When Akshay recently went to Singapore for the shooting of Priyadarshan’s De Dhana Dhan, he wanted to catch the ongoing IPL matches in his hotel room where he is staying. But later he came to know that the hotel Pan Pacific 7 Raffles Boulevard in Martina Square in Singapore doesn’t have the channel which is telecasting the running IPL matches. Soon Akshay contacted the owner of the hotel and threatened him to either tune in the channel (Set Max) or he will shift to some other hotel. However due to his star status the hotel management tuned the channel within a minute.

The producer of the film, Ratan Jain confirmed the news and said, “Yes it is true. When Akshay came here last week, I had gone to the airport to pick him up and the moment we got in the car, he asked me if we are watching the matches. When I told him that it was getting very difficult catch-up with IPL matches because the hotel didn’t have that channel, he spoke to the owner and told him that if he didn’t get the matches, he won’t stay in the hotel. Within minutes the channel started beaming in the hotel.”

The producer later added, “I guess, apart from us Indians, no one was interested in the IPL. The hotel also must have paid a huge amount to subscribe to the channel; but Akshay is happy and now the entire unit can watch the matches together during breaks.”

John Abraham

Actor John Abraham who himself is avid fan of football now steps in to rescue the All India Football Federation (AIFF), as the president of AIFF, Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi is seriously unwell. John wants to add his bit to the sport. He was even thinking of starting a football academy.

As Dasmunsi is gravely ill, John steps in to promote football seriously. For that he has joined hands with two of country’s great footballers Sunil Chetri and Bhaichung Bhutia.

“Bhaichung and Chetri are football buddies. We have the same goal, when it comes to the interest of the game. So we’re onto planning something major,” says John.

John later added, “With him (Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi) in a coma, I’m seriously lost on how to go about promoting football. But yes, I definitely won’t allow the game to suffer. As an ambassador for football, I’m doing my best to carry the game forward.”

John has also done a film Dhan Dhana Dhan - Goal, which was totally dedicated to football. Also it was only because his love for the sport that he did Sooni Taraporewala’s Little Zizou. Talking about the film John adds, “It was a sweet film about a little boy’s love for the game apart from being about Parsis. You know I’m a half bawa.”

John even doesn’t mind to produce a film based on football.

Pritish Nandy and Meghna Gulzar

After failing with his dream to produce his own version of Devdas along with Sudhir Mishra, producer Pritish Nandy is not at all ready to let down his dream. On the other hand he is going to complete his dream, where Meghna Gulzar will direct the film. Pritish Nandy was previously planning to do the remake of Devdas with Sudhir Mishra, having Shiney Ahuja in a lead role. However that wouldn’t happen, so he planned in other way.

Interestingly, it’s Meghna’s father Gulzar who started the own version thing of Devdas many decades ago with actors like Dharmendra, Sharmila Tagore and Hema Malini.

Nandy has full belief in talented Meghna and trusts her that she will do right justice to the film. Talking about her, Nandy says, “I think Meghna can capture the subtle nuances that will make such a film for today’s audiences. Austerity would be the hallmark of our Devdas. The original story by Saratchandra Chatterjee is barely a couple of pages long.”

When asked to him that what would be different in his film? Nandy said, “My Devdas would be spunky tale of love and loss like Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet. I’d hate the slopy, sentimental, self-destructive ending. My Devdas would not be morbid, self-pitying, dreary or vulgarly ostentatious.”

Kajol, Karan Johar and Kareena Kapoor

After a successful attempt to rope in the talented Kajol for My Name Is Khan, director-producer Karan Johar has one more time made Kajol agree to work for his next venture. Karan also had hired Kareena Kapoor for the film. Kareena and Kajol had previously also appeared together in Karan’s film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in 2001. Karan immediately roped in Kajol for his next film as he was happy with her performance working in My Name Is Khan.

The film which is yet to be titled will be directed by debutant director Siddharth Malhotra. Siddharth is a grand son of the late Prem Nath. He also worked as a creative producer for the hit TV serial Sanjivani. There is a buzz that the film in based on Hollywood film Stepmom, which had actors like Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon.

Shooting of the film will go on floors as soon as both the actress completes their on-going projects. Kajol is currently busy doing Karan’s My Name Is Khan, while Kareena is busy with Rensil D’Silva’s film opposite Saif Ali Khan.

Shekhar Suman and Adhyayan Suman

Another father-son actor duo of Bollywood, Shekhar Suman and Adhyayan Suman are set to appear on silver screen together. The film is titled as Dekh Bhai Dekh, which is the film version of the popular comedy TV serial of 90s ‘Dekh Bhai Dekh‘.

Adhyayan is all excited to work with father Shekhar as he says, “My father is the finest actors the country has today, and I believe what he did in Dekh Bhai Dekh remains an unmatchable performance till date. I am fortunate to perform in front of him. I have learnt a lot from him off-screen, but this would be the first time that I would be performing along with him.”

Adhyayan is excited not only because he is going act with his dad, but because he has grown up visiting the sets of the serial.

“I used to be nine or ten years old when I used to visit the sets of Dekh Bhai Dekh. It was a cult show on television and it amazes me beyond belief that it’s being made into a film,” adds Adhyayan.

The film is based on the story of a young boy from the Diwan family of Dekh Bhai Dekh. Instead of having a rich background the boy wants to join the army and so the story revolves around it. Comedy is the basic element of the film.

It is being directed by Anand Mahendroo, the one who also directed the TV serial. The film has got huge budget of Rs 30 crore, promising great visuals.

Himesh Reshammiya

Musician-singer-actor Himesh Reshammiya is looking younger and leaner now a day. He has also cut down his Chinese hairstyle and got a new hairstyle. The new Himesh Reshammiya is all excited as he is coming up with four big releases this year.

His four releases this year includes: Ishaan Trivedi’s Radio, Swapna Joshi’s Ishq Unplugged, Pooja Bedi’s Kajrare and John Mathew Mathan’s A New Love Ishtory.

“Nothing is impossible if you set your heart on it. There may be setbacks, but don’t give up,” says Himesh merrily.

Himesh who refused singing for AR Rahman saying that he only wants to sing in films he’s acting in, is coming up with news singing style in his upcoming movies. He promises that you will see and hear a completely new Himesh.

Talking about cinema, Himesh said, “The days of running around trees are over. After doing all kinds of roles, I discovered that comedy is my forte.”

Himesh plays a RJ in Radio. Through this film he is giving tribute to all RJs of the world. Talking about his role in the film, he adds, “Don’t undermine my capabilities, you’ll be surprised.”

“Radio is a cool romantic comedy and I have adapted myself to the character. It’s not one of your over the top ‘Yo’ guys, but someone very identifiable. His lingo is very contemporary and youth centric.”

To promote this film, Himesh went to the Radio Mirchi studio, where the CEO of Mirchi, Prashant Pandey said something good about Himesh. “Himesh has shown himself to be a versatile actor in addition to being a hit singer. It’s good to know that he has as many as four films releasing this year. Mirchi listeners are keenly awaiting his movie and music releases.”

Shah Rukh Khan

Might be quite upset with the performance of his IPL team- Kolkata Knight Riders, Shah Rukh is heading back to India with a reason to cast his vote.

Before the IPL matches were started, Shah Rukh was approached by one of the political parties (ANC: African National Congress) of South Africa to join them in their rallies as it’s also an elections time over there. But SRK politely declined it and will approach to India on Wednesday with wife Gauri, son Aryan and daughter Suhana.

But Shah Rukh has given warning to his team that if they did well in his absence, he would return; otherwise, he would be shouting at them from India. Shah Rukh had previously promised his team that he will there for every match, although his shoulder is injured.

Dev Patel and Freida Pinto

Dev Patel and Freida Pinto who played childhood sweethearts in multiple Oscar winning movie Slumdog Millionaire are actually dating in real life as well. There were always had romours that whether both of them seeing each other, but they always dismissed it.

Although they have denied the fact several times, they have recently spotted cuddling each other in a romantic lunch date in Israel where Freida is shooting for an international film called Miral.

One onlooker at the restaurant revealed, “They looked very happy together and they didn’t seem to care who saw them. Dev couldn’t take his eyes off her and she couldn’t help cuddling up to him.”

However, Dev’s mother Anita also has confirmed that her son is dating Frieda as she quoted, “Life can’t get any better for him. Freida is really beautiful and I am really happy for them. Yes, we knew he was flying to Israel to see her.”

Feroz Khan

The veteran actor and filmmaker Feroz Khan passes away this morning after a prolonged battle with cancer. Feroz was diagnosed with cancer a year ago. He was 70 when passed away early morning at his Bangalore residence. Feroz was born and brought up in Bangalore. Few days before his death, Feroz wished to go his farmhouse in Banglore and visit his loving pets. Following his wish son Fardeen Khan made all the arrangements for him to fly to Banglore. Feroz was also known in the industry for his unconditional love for animals.

Feroz Khan made his acting debut with film Didi in 1960 as a second lead. But he claim to fame with his wonderful performances in Qurbani and Janbaaz. There after he has done many films, while he last appeared in a comedy flick Welcome (2007) along with actors Akshay Kumar and Anil Kapoor. Feroz Khan was always known for his different persona and his powerful voice.

Many film industry people have expressed grief towards his death as it would be biggest loss to the industry. Feroz is survived by daughter Laila and son Fardeen.
