Glamorous Zeenat Aman and stylish Kabir Bedi had earlier seen together in a soup ad in 1970s and in a film Hulchul in 1971. Now after 38 years they are once again set to work together in Sanjay Sharma’s film Dunno Y… Naa Jaane Kyun. The film shows mature love story of Zeenat and Kabir.

One source said, “Zeenat plays a catholic while Kabir plays her husband, who abandons her and their son, only to return in her life after 20 years. That’s when their romance blossoms. It’s a mature love story.”

On the first day of their shoot on the sets at Ajmera House in Yari Road, when Zeenat met Kabir, she said, “Is this Kabir?” Kabir replied jokingly, “In the film we are meeting after 20 years but in real life we are meeting after 40 years.” In turn Zeenat joked to him, “Don’t be so loud, the youngsters around might just calculate our age.”

What did made the director to think of these actors for his film? “We didn’t want to cast a regular couple. We were sure that only Zeenatji could effortlessly play Rebecca and we wanted someone handsome and stylish opposite her. I remember the commercial they had done years ago and thought it would be great to bring them together in my film,” said Sanjay.

Speaking about his role Kabir said, “I was initially a bit apprehensive about starring in the film. We hardly have defined roles for senior actors but I think times have changed. This is my first emotional role. I play Peter who is someone one can love and hate at the same time. I am also glad that I am working opposite Zeenat.”
