Movie poster of Shadow
Salute to the guts and willpower of Nasser Khan, who plays the protagonist Arjun Sherawat in the film. The man who is blind in real life plays the hero in reels of Shadow. Except those jump offs from multi-storeyed building, hazardous death-defying stunts and dancing skills of Naseer noting is good in the film. The storyline and writing have the weakened the film.
The movie is about cracking a serial murder case. No one knows anything about that unseen criminal, Arjun Sherawat (Nasser Khan). The police department hands over his case to police officer Sanjana (Sonali Kulkarni), who has been trying too hard to catch the criminal but all her efforts wastes.
Hrishitaa Bhatt plays Sheetal, a press reporter, who lives her profession by heart. Working for a new channel, she follows the case closely. Another reporter from another news channel Rahul (Milind Soman) is also looking for the same case, who teases the officer Sanjana time to time with his questions. Sanjana is helpless to solve the case, as all her efforts go in vain. However murders kept on rising. One day Sheetal gives crucial information to police about Arjun’s next target, but unfortunately he meets an unexpected accident in the way and declared as dead. Everyone seems happy with the death of him, until his audio clip comes up challenging the cops that he will kidnap a famous builder Habeeb Faizal (Mushtaq Khan) in front of them on a particular date. Despite security, Arjun succeeds in kidnapping the builder.
The script holds your attention in the initial parts, but later it seems confused and crazy. The film seems like made to showcase Nasser’s acting abilities. Sonali Kulkarni looks little overweight, but otherwise ok. Item song done by her in the film is an unnecessary effort. The romantic link between her and Nasser is another weak point of the film. Milind Soman is good, but Hrishitaa Bhatt and Samir Aftab had less scope in the film.
Unfortunately, Shadow doesn’t have anything new to experience. It’s like something we have already seen in our 70’s and 80’s masala movies. Only a die-hard movie lover would love to catch the film. Definitely the movie is not for multiplexes, but for single screens.
