It’s Ritesh Deshmukh who brings the happy news to Shahid’s ears. Shahid has been still remembered for his mature performance in Jab We Met in 2007. He is now one of the actors who are nominated in the Best Actor category for the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Award 2009. On that note Shahid said, “I’m too young to be receiving such a big honour, but I’m also humbled.”

His three films- Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kaminey opposite Priyanka Chopra, Aditya Chopra’s Dil Bole Hadippa opposite Rani Mukherjee and Ken Ghosh’s Yahoo opposite the Southie actress Genelia D’Souza are slated to release this year. Kaminey will release on August 14 while Dil Bole Hadippa will release on September 18. However Yahoo will release at the end of year.

Promos of Kaminey and Dil Bole Hadippa are on air and actually dragging people’s attention to it. Kaminey is in buzz because of his and Priyanka Chopra’s supposed love affair, while about Dil Bole Hadippa people want to know about Shahid and Rani’s chemistry. “Dil Bole Hadippa has an edge because people are inquisitive about Rani Mukherji and me. They want to know more about our screen chemistry,” said Shahid.

However he is much happy doing Yahoo. “And the cherry on the cake is the fact that Yahoo has me doing what I love best — dancing! Four years of all that I learned in dance has gone into this one film,” said the actor.

“Finally I’m in a space where I can do whatever it is I wish as far as my roles go,” added Shahid.
