Former Miss World and A-list Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has invited to officially inaugurate Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai’s latest iconic luxury resort at a $40 million glittering function on Thursday. She is also chosen as ‘Goddess of Atlantis’ at the function. Priyanka will introduce ‘Atlantis Rising’, an aerial ballet of fireworks to be performed by the Grucci Family, who did the pyrotechnics in the Beijing Olympics.

This high profile event would also include celebrities like Australian pop star Kylie Minogue, Hollywood stars Lindsay Lohan, Gerard Butler, Robert De Niro, Denzel Washington, singers Lily Allen and Janet Jackson and basketball star Michael Jordan. Another Indian celebrity, Mallika Sherawat will also join them.

Other than them politicians, chief executives, top business leaders and members of the Dubai royal family are among the 2,000-strong guest list of this grand event.

The function will feature performance by Kylie Minogue and Lohan’s partner DJ Samantha Ronson will host an ‘Atlantis Afterglow’ which is a show to round off the evening’s events. However, celebrity chefs Santi Santamaria, Nobu Matsuhisa, Giorgio Locatelli and Michael Rostang will treat guests as part of ‘Atlantean Feast’.

Atlantis, The Palm is set on one of the three palm-shaped artificial islands off the coast of Dubai. It is one of the most luxurious resorts in the Middle East with 360-degree views of the ocean. The resort offers a whole range of entertainment and leisure activities themed around marine life apart from regular hotel facilities. Another attraction at resort is the replica of the ruins of the legendary lost city of Atlantis.

The place is already opened for visitors and guests in September, but its official opening is on Thursday, November 20. Access to the resort will be blocked from Wednesday evening to Friday midday. The inauguration of the resort will have one of the world’s largest fireworks displays.
