Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle
The action director of the much acclaimed film Slumdog Millionaire, Sham Kaushal is one more time set to do another film with director Danny Boyle.
Although he didn’t get any award for his work in the film, but Sham definitely get another film in her kitty with the director of the film. For the film Sham directed the train sequence where the small children hanging from the train.
“Whenever the crew or Danny see the train sequence in the film, they call or SMS me. It was probably one of the most difficult scenes that I had ever done. When I met Danny for the first time at a suburban five star hotel, he explained the scene to me. I didn’t even know if I was doing the film that time, but I was amazed when I got to know that Danny had seen my films, Parzania and Black Friday,” said Sham.
Talking about the action scene in the film, Sham said, “It was very difficult and I asked him for a day’s time to try and find a way to do the scene. When I met him the second time I had taken a toy train along and showed him how I planned to do the scene. He loved the idea and before the scene was shot, we did a rehearsal of the scene on a bus.”
He later adds, “After the film was shot, Danny had promised me that wherever he goes after Slumdog…, be it Hollywood or a film in India, I would be the action director of the film. After the Golden Globe award ceremony, the writer of the film emailed me and Danny called me and informed me that he is planning the next film and I am going to be a part of it. He is yet to decide on the subject of the film.”
