Marriage may or may not fit in the next five years, but Vidya is not going to give up acting for anyone or anything and she also thinks that life has been good ever since she has turned 30.

She says, “Acting is a part of who I am. I don’t think I will ever give it up. But having said that, if it does come naturally to me and I do feel like taking it slow at some point of time, then maybe I will. But this will never be a pre-condition to get into any relationship.”

Vidya Balan will be seen soon in her latest movie No One Killed Jessica, which is based on the Jessica Lal murder case. Vidya is happy about the fact the women are not giving up their careers for their personal lives anymore.

“I think women should work at every age. It is fantastic! And this is happening in every profession. I recently met a girl at a store who got back to work just after two months of delivering a child, this is known as dedication. But yes, in our profession in the earlier days, the instant you get married, you are ceased to be an object of desire, which is why most of the actresses have retired. Today, no longer! I guess this is all got to do with the fact and attitude that today if someone is with someone, it will never stop you from desiring them!”

This critically acclaimed actress, who has featured in movies like Parineeta, Guru, Ishqiya and Paa is rolling high these days. Neither her performances nor her dressing sense are being criticized. However, she admits that she has turned careful and fussy.

“I guess over a period of time, I think rightfully so, I have got the courage to do only what I want to do. I will never get pressurized to do anything, which I don’t want to do, even if it is a right film, or a kind of film that one should be doing. It has to excite me and challenge me. It can be a super simple film, it can be a completely mad role or it can be intense….it can be anything across this wide spectrum….but I have to feel excited,” she said.

This has also been her mantra when it comes to dressing up, especially since the time she become the favorite child of our fashion police. Now one will see her wearing only designer wears by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. She has got this new elegant look, which steals the focus wherever she goes.

“I will always stick to what makes me feel good. If I feel that I am looking good in something, then I will surely wear it. And if it is not, then even if it is the most beautiful crafted creation, I will not. This is the only criteria I use when I am wearing anything these days and I think this has worked for me,” says Vidya.

The original plan to cast a big star for the role of Jessica Lal, the assassinated model from Delhi, in the upcoming movie ‘No One Killed Jessica‘ has fallen out. Vidya Balan is playing Jessica’s sister Sabrina Lal and Rani Mukherji is playin the role of an investigative journalist. However, the chance of finding an established actor to play the small role of Jessica Lal has faded out. The directors and producers are facing a lack of choice and have decided to cast a newcomer for this role.

A close source says, “Once Vidya and Rani were cast, established actresses who were approached guessed the will have a very little to do especially as the character who gets murdered in the early part of the story. Now they have no choice but to cast a newcomer.” Director of the movie Rajkumar Gupta confirmed saying, “We are looking at casting a new girl as Jessica. We feel the impact of the crime on the audience’s mind would be far greater if the actress playing Jessica is an unknown face, we are looking at a theater actor for Jessica’s role and for other smaller roles.” Siddharth Roy Kapoor of UTV said, “Apart from Rani Mukherji and Vidya Balan, all the other characters in the film form the supporting cast. They are good actors but not known faces.”

Imagining a life without electronic gadgets which have become a part of our everyday life is sort of hard to imagine. Take the cell phone for instance. But Bollywood actress Vidya Balan does not mind being out of the network range. Most actors have to fly to remote locations for shooting their films, where the network does not follow them. Recently when Vidya was shooting for Ishqiya in Wai near Pune, she did not have any mobile network. But she says, “That actually works for me. When you are in Mumbai, there are things that are constantly on your mind. But when you are cut off, you can focus on one thing. Cinema’s all consuming. This kind of an environment is perfect. I have no issues being away from the network zones.”

Actress Vidya Balan recently shown her sweet gesture to unit members on the sets of her film. Her favorite sweet is South Indian Mysore mithai, which she shared with the unit members.

One of the unit members revealed, “The South Indian Mysore mithai is Vidya’s favorite sweet. It’s special because it’s made at home by her mother. When Vidya learnt that her mother and sister were going on drive down to Wai to meet her, she told them to get the sweets not only for herself but the entire unit. And, they had a ball gorging on the mithai.”

As we learn, actor Vidya Balan is very much scared of cats. During one of her shootings a cat came on the sets. The presence of cat made Vidya and her unit go wild. She rushes to her van and refuses to come out till the animal is shooed away.

But, let us clarify you that Vidya do not allow any one to be cruel or even throw stones at them. “Just shoo it away” is what told Vidya to her unit members. It was fun for the unitwalaas to see Vidya running on the sets.

Well, is that the reason Vidya keeps away from Bollywood’s infamous cat-fights? Because some of her contemporaries are quite catty you know!

Not everybody knew that actor Vidya Balan has a mimic bone in her body. Not only boys who can mimic, but Vidya also can.

One unit member of from one of her movies revealed, “You should hear Vidya mimic. She can imitate any actor with utmost ease! It’s treat to watch her take off on them. She’s the life of our night schedules. She is high in spirits even at wee hours. She never gets and let others get bogged down by dullness and is always smiling, cracking jokes and imitating other people. The grueling schedules don’t look grueling any more with her around.”

Well we can expect some laughter show by Vidya Balan in future.
