Designer Kiran Uttam Ghosh inspired by Chitrangada Singh’s pictures and indeed started a new line dedicated to the actress. Although the Chitrangada line is not yet released, the actress is all excited. This will be of first of its kind in Bollywood. On that note Chitrangada says, “Kiran told me that my pictures had inspired her to come up with a line that’s named after me.”
Unfamiliar with the kind of competition or meanness of the industry, Chitrangada take a break of three-and-half-year when thing started affecting her personal life. “In retrospect, it was my immaturity and impulsiveness. One doesn’t come to the industry to make friends and it was juvenile of me to get hurt if people were selfish and ambitious,” says the actress.
Coming from family of successful professionals, she must have to familiar with things. “I certainly wasn’t a babe in the woods. But when stories started to circulate about how my husband battered me, it got difficult for me to explain all that at home. Linkups and publicity gimmicks are fine when others are involved. But things are different when one’s own name is dragged into it,” she adds.
“I know it was a great learning experience. Today, I don’t think such rumours would affect us. Moreover, my husband also saw how miserable I was without being in the industry,” adds Chitrangada optimistically.
Perhaps the renewed Chitrangada wants to do lot more than just being the next Smita Patil. So what we should expect from her next? , “I was talking to Anupam Kher about how he did other roles after having started off with Saaransh. He said if had he continued doing such films, he would have only done eight movies in his career. I am not breaking any image for the sake of doing it. It’s good to try different things.”
Unlike her earlier films, Chitrangada is coming up with an action film opposite Abhay Deol. She will also appear in sequel to Sudhir Mishra’s Iss Raat ki Subah Nahin along side Irrfan Khan. The sequel is titled as 2 Days, 2 Nights and a Morning.
