Few days before Adnan Sami’s wife Sabah have filed a complaint against him in the Andheri Magistrate Court under the Domestic Violence Act. But at the end she has withdrew the case as a result of insufficient proofs.
When asked to Adnan’s lawyer, Vibhav Krishna (who is fighting the case along with Mrudula Kadam) that why Sabah has withdrew the case? Then he replied, “Sabah had to withdraw her case since she had no particulars to support her claims of domestic violence (supposedly) inflicted on her. That’s why the intensity of her case has weakened. Sabah has moved the divorce application to the Family Court for which the hearing date is yet to be decided, but we have not yet been served a copy of it.”
On the other hand, Sabah’s lawyer, Mrunalini Deshmukh has something else to say. She said, “It’s a complete lie that we withdrew the case from Andheri Magistrate Court because Sabah could not validate her charges of domestic violence. She simply didn’t want to go through the trouble of going to different courts for all the cases that she has filed against Adnan. She is still seeking divorce in the Family Court which also has a provision of relief from domestic violence.”
Preity Zinta’s next film Videsh, which is directed by Deepa Mehta is in trouble with Censor Board to get a U/A certificate. The Board thinks that the film is too violent and asked the director to cut down its violent scenes by 50 per cent.
The film which is based on domestic violence shows too much violence towards Preity’s character. So the Censor Board has insisted to cut down some scenes and they will give green signal to the film only after seeing the edited part.
The regional Officer of Censor Board, Vinayak Azad said, “We have asked them to tone down the domestic violence scenes by 50 per cent. And we had one more objection. The film has used expletives too, which will have to be either beeped or deleted.”
He later added, “We will review the film once again after they make the cuts which we have asked for.”
The film shows Preity as being beaten up by husband (played by Vansh Bhardwaj) at several scenes. There was also news in the last few days that actress Preity Zinta felt disturbed after doing the scene where she was beaten by and humiliated by Vansh.
Lately, when Preity was asked about her experience working in Videsh, she had replied, “I remember asking a woman, who was a victim of domestic violence and had left her husband, what the turning point in her relationship was and she said, ‘I told my husband if you want to beat me, beat me in the bedroom, don’t beat me in front of the family.’ I could never understand that. It’s terrible. I really didn’t know what it was to be in a situation like this till I actually did the film.”
Eventually Preity Zinta has won the best actress Silver Hugo Award in Feature Film Competition at 44th Chicago International Film Festival for the same film.

However the actress denies the news and said, “No no no! I am not… I repeat I am not contesting elections.”
Denying the news Ameesha said, “Numerous parties have approached me to contest the elections. And, this is not the first time that such a thing has happened. But, once and for all, I want to clarify that I’m not getting into politics right now. I don’t know who has been giving such confirmations, but the news is anything but true. I need to make my stand clear officially.”
But there is no smoke without fire because her grandfather Barrister Rajni Patel was the eminent lawyer and was right hand man to the late PM Mrs. Indira Gandhi. He was the Congress Committee President of Mumbai.
She said, “Maybe, it’s my family’s association with politics that gets the rumours mills working overtime.”
Ameesha says that she was the favourite grandchild and has fond memories of her grandfather.
“He wasn’t around when the other grand children were growing up. Maybe, it’s my association with him that fuels such rumours,” adds Ameesha.
Ameesha cleared that she is not doing it right now but will definitely on the cards for the future as right now she is busy with her film schedules.

It’s in trouble because Censor board has given it A Certificate, so that it can not be shown on television. The promo was supposed to air on TV on last weekend. However, it will only be shown in theaters and only with films which have A Certificate.
Regional Officer of Censor Board, Vinayak Azad confirmed it and said, “Yes, we have given the promos as A Certificate because of which it can’t be shown on television.”
Meanwhile when asked to him why the promo has given the A Certificate, he revealed, “Kareena calls Akshay a dog and in turn he calls her a bitch. Apart from this scene, there is also a line indicating that women are only meant for making love. I found that very inappropriate, because in a promo, you can’t understand the context of the scene as we have not yet seen the film.”
